Follow up...... this little oak seedling is only about a foot tall now and would be easy to transplant.  It will become a lovely shade tree for the yard, and having a tap root will withstand high winds well.

Quercus alba is the Latin name if you want to look it up😉👋

I am getting read to put panel and headliners in my series. Would anyone have any on this side of the pond to sell? if not has anyone come up with a local option for these? Plus would any have a front panel supports like the  one seen in the second pic? I only need on of the top ones if anyone has any.

OK, so I feel the need to chime in here.  I am a long-time loyal fan of all things Land Rovers.  I love the marque, the heritage, and everything it represents.  The adventurous stories and history behind the brand are inspiring, however 'modern' JLR products are not what they used to be. 

There are solid reasons behind the reliability reputation, or lack thereof.  With blind bias in the purchase process, I have had the pleasure of owning two LR4's and a new Defender.  I loved the way they drove.  This was all within a five-year span. 

Why so many vehicles in such a short period of time?  Because every one of them was a POS.  Each had less mileage than the one before, hoping things would improve.  I grew tired of them leaving me stranded (twice) and the constant trips to the mechanic because they are far too complex to repair.  The Gap OBDII diagnostic tool was my friend and without it there would have been many more tow trucks involved. 

The breaking point was the $5K headlight estimate on the new Defender. ( I managed to replace it myself with a $500 FB Marketplace find – taken out of context that sounds insane.) 

I can appreciate the original post was in regard to the TD6 but the entire vehicle needs to be considered.  Buy new with plans to dump it after the warranty is up and you'll be fine.  Lesson learned. 

With my tail between my legs, I made the conscious decision to keep my marriage intact and purchase Japanese for a daily driver.  I'm now on my sixth (classic) Defender and plan to keep to the 'true' Landies until such time as JLR get it right.

I am working on identifying the prep work for it. Would like to install new led lights for driving and new half shafts.
I read in a book that there was a wadding kit made for the lightweight. Would love to get my hands on one.
Also need to replace the tires. They are not fit for such a trip.
Then comes all the electrical wiring. Would like to test it out and water proof it.
Am sure will get more items on the list.
