After
several "Googles" of Land Rover, I found my 1967 Series IIA in Saskatoon.
After negotiations, part of which included trailering the truck to Edmonton,
it was soon sitting in my yard! (What have I done?)..... There it sat,
lots of dents on every body panel, chugging to life with lots of effort
and smoke, puddles forming in several places underneath, cracked tyres
and that old truck smell inside. I was in Love!
Not
having much (hardly any) mechanical know how, but with a newly purchased
manual in hand I set to work removing, trying to find, and replacing
as many parts as I could. With the help of a mechanic friend and a couple
of "Do Overs", it finally passed the provincial inspection!! I was finally
on the road in a "Real Land Rover"!!.
