It
became evident the soft sand was causing everyone problems and tactics
quickly changed. Drivers started taking longer and longer runs at some
of the hills until some drivers were stopping by Tim Hortons for a coffee
before coming back. :)
Nicole
in her new LR4 gave a valiant effort but even all that techno wizardry
was unable to get through without a little help. Norman showed creativity
in taking a different line and with the help of his "slightly"
modified, high powered Discovery got through the first course almost
fault free. Should it be a scary thought that Norman's son Jonathan
was able to actually scare dad with his driving??
It
continued to drizzle throughout the morning which did little to help
things but folks were enjoying themselves none the less. Yells of laughter
and amazement were heard on different courses while drivers gathered
in little groups strategizing on how they were going to tackle the courses.
Andy,
Glen (organizers of this years trials), no worries the courses were
plenty challenging enough.
