Friday:
Met roverandom in Frank and headed over Deadman's Pass to our usual
campsite on Alexander Creek. The trail over the pass is easy and wide
albeit wet and rough. Nice sunny day with a big thunderstorm in the
evening and hail overnight.
Saturday:
Ran the Northfork/Racehorse loop clockwise. Found the "missing" section
of the Soap Creek Trail. It is wide and easy with no overgrowth. We
needed to do some clearing. The new saw worked like a charm. Total
time was 6.5 hours including lunch at Racehorse. The day was hot and
sunny!!
Sunday:
Drove down and ran the Ptolemy Pass / Tent Mountain Pass loop clockwise.
The Ptolemy pass trail is wide, easy and scenic. Tent Mountain is
moderate and overgrown in places. It only took a couple of hours to
run. We then checked out all of the other tracks in the area. Nothing
much of interest in the other trails. Lastly we headed up the Crown
Mountain Trail. It was crazy overgrown. We got about half way up before
hitting a narrow spot that I bailed on. Headed back to camp and roverandom
packed up and headed home with many fresh scratches....
Monday:
Took the old road/trail down the eastern side of Alexander Creek.
Not too bad. It pops out at the weigh scales. From the scales followed
to Phillipps Pass Trail/Road back into Alberta which emerges at Sentinel.
It is mostly a good dirt road. Then we headed home up Dutch Creek
and the Forestry trunk road.
