Chris

currently planning a trip through the kootneys to visit some hotspings.
the 3 I have so far are halfway hotsprings, ram creek hotsprings, lussier creek hotsprings.
If you know of anymore in the kootneys, please let me know so I can make a map to keep us moving along back roads and enjoying hotsprings.

Here is what I made up, let me know if anyone has any input on maybe some FSRs Im not aware of that we can take or hot springs along the way that I may of missed that we're going to drive past.
formal event Ill post soon as I have dates, I should have them soon.

Day 1. Edmonton - canyon hot springs 6.5hrs. Camping near revelstoke. (we will meet anyone from calgary area  in field on highway 1)

Day 2. From Revelstoke we head south on 23  to halfway hot springs. 2.5hrs. Camping at Rady creek, what a view this will be, trust me.

Day 3. Leave Rady creek, head south to Balfour, ferry crossing to crawford bay, head across grey creek pass towards kimberly. head north from Kimberly to Lussier hot springs. 6hrs. Camping will be east of lussier, there's a provincial park campground, I believe you need cash for this site, might on the honor system, I'll look into this before we leave.

Day 4. From this point we have two options. A: cross koko claims to elkford and home. B: head north across various FSRs until we hit highway 93 and end up at lake louise to head home.

Looks like a good plan. You needed cash for Whiteswan last time we were there. If you want free, there is a Rec Site a bit past the lake and other rec sites and random options depending on if Koko is the next day or heading north.

Keep an eye on the Balfour ferry.  They have been on strike for six months, but sounds like it might end soon.

Chris

sounds good, Ill come up with a plan if that is still the case and the strike is ongoing.
Has anyone ever headed north up those FSRs? or would everyone like to tackle KOKO?

Chris

i like that you guys appear to have crossed over into BC via the FSRs, I think those are closed now?

Unfortunately they are closed. Racehorse Pass, North Fork Pass and Deadman's all closed to vehicles. They are nice trails and there was no valid reason to close them.
