Hello there Landy folks!  We have an opportunity to find out what this Grenadier hubbub is all about first hand.  The Alberta INEOS ambassador is interested in joining us for an ALRE outing near Calgary.

When: Saturday, March 1st  (rain date is March 8th) Heading out first thing in the morning, home before sunset.

Where: Meeting at Tim Horton's in Cochrane.  An adventurous trundle out the TransAlta road into the Ghost PLUZ.

Activities: Light offroading, bonfire warming, social gathering, Grenadier drooling

Who: Bring your kids, bring your dogs, heck even bring your mother-in-law if you want, she'll love it!

Vehicles:  Suitable for any capable Land Rover model.  Minimal chance of vehicle damage.

Let me know if you're interested and we'll plan the details based on the desires of the group.

The Grenadier ambassador is Shawn Ward.  It sounds like some of the Edmonton folks will remember Shawn from when he was with the JLR dealer a few years ago.

Hi Everyone:

I'm checking in again to see if there's anyone else interested in a day out in the Ghost PLUZ on Saturday, March 1st.  The terrain will show a high respect to vehicle sympathy along with some spice if we so choose.  This opens it up to anything from the fancy-pants Range Rovers to HUE 166.  It would be great to see some folks with a Series along for the day.  So far, it's looking like we have 5-6 vehicles.

Shawn W.    Grenadier
Bill I.         Defender 110
Chris K.    LR3
Isaac        Disco II
John O.     Defender 90 NAS
Alistair S.  New Defender 110 (maybe)
Doug L.     Disco I (maybe)

We'll be starting an email thread dedicated to those interested to finalize the details.

Cheers,
John

I've got my room booked at the Bow River Inn and will be coming down friday afternoon.   Anyone else coming down from edmonton/red deer?????

Doesn't sound like too much snow this year so far.....

But it's going to be a brilliant day out and about I'm sure :-)
Cheers, Bill

Sounds cool. Love to come up but not sure if I have anything in a fit state to make the trip up.
Consequences of driving old junk all the time I guess.

If I manage to cobble something together I'll definitely try to make it work.

That's very kind of you Bill but it looks like I'm going to be working all weekend. Have fun you guys and let me know what you think of that Grenadier.

Thanks everyone again for a most enjoyable day out in the Ghost.  The weather was PERFECT.  10C or so with sunny skies made for great mountain views.  The 10 vehicles made it to 'The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly' waterfalls. The low water levels made water crossings non-events with the capable vehicles and drivers, along with a few trusty navigators. There was one ice climber making the best of it.  He commented the ice climbing season ended 'yesterday'. Everyone had a peak at the Grenadier, a few even had a chance to drive it.  The pace allowed for lots of socializing, good camaraderie and soaking in the scenery.
