CV axle on LR3 removal

Well om trying to replace the CV boot, the Axle is great with no play, so I'd like to not buy a new axle. Unfortunately I have hit this with my purse, then borrowed my wife's purse, still won't pop off.
Anyone have any tricks to getting this thing off?

You drift the star off the shaft. A little spring clip holds it on. A bit of pipe is a nice way to tap it evenly of you have some the right size.

No pipe that would fit, but I got some stuff kicking around I can probably make something work
