Fuel Pump Whine on TD5

I'm not sure if the fuel pump setup is the same as other models, but has anyone else experienced the pump whining louder than usual?  It changes pitch a little bit too when you put the key into the ON position before you start.  Sometimes it sounds normal, but most of the time now it is just a lot louder.

Since I have the 130, I'm wondering if it would be easier to drop the tank, or to take off the box to access the pump on the top of the tank.  Hmm...

Thoughts on any of this?
