Dual brakes ?.

I have a 2a 88 with a dual brake master cylinder installed it has 2 ports 1 7/16 and 1 3/8. I bought a shuttle valve (599443) it has 3 ports that are 7/16 and 2 ports that are 3/8 it has a brake switch.
I don't understand why 3-7/16 ports. 1 to each front brake?. Or do I have the wrong shuttle valve.

One port has a plug, NRC4137. But you could run separate front lines, if you want.

I should add...  You don't really "need" it.  It is a PDWA.  Just a warning device that one circuit has lost pressure.  Half the time they are seized and don't work.  Later on in the Defender lifetime, they removed it and added a float to the reservoir, which is more useful.

So why two sizes of brake pipes. Are the fitting threads just fine thread?

I'm not familiar with what Land Rover used for brake fittings at that time.  Probably one size for front and one for rear to not mix them up.  If I read correctly, Land Rover used a strange British only fitting style which is slightly different from what was used domestically.

Im trying to look up the part # for the pipes. What does  NRC mean

Just part of the part number, if you mean something like NRC4069.
