We had 3 landies make it out to the show on Saturday.

Colin & Heather in their nicely finished off S2a soft top with the sides rolled up.  Very tidy ;-)
Abdu in his 1991 EXmod "Tigger".   Very nice to see it back on the road again!!!
And my 110 recently back from a Hot springs tour of SE BC.   Unlike all the waxed and polished vehicles my landy came complete with all the splattered bugs on my windscreen and dust from the forestry roads LOL.

Unfortunately for Lee & Noreen their S2a 'failed to proceed' while on it's way to the Museum grounds. Sounded like electrickery issues.

I set up my awning on the leeward side of my truck and we had a very pleasant corner of the show grounds, with lots of visitors coming by to peek and prod.  I almost had a buyer for Colin's truck too...even if he wasn't selling hahhahhahhah

Parts for Sale / SOLD: Land Rover Series truck ...
Last post by Rambler - July 13, 2025, 04:28 PM
Hello, It's been a few years since I posted on here as I sold my Series 2 to a friend in town. He bought a truck cab top and the adapter plate from Rover's North in the states for the S2, but having never fitted this has decided to stick with the tilt and canvas top.

He would like to sell both the Land Rover Series 88" (2/3) used truck cab top, with the adapter plate and side mounting brackets (parts are as new, Proline part number PL1750 and PLY025)
https://www.roversnorth.com

Items are located in Regina, Saskatchewan. Can ship at cost, or arrange your pick up.
He is asking $1250 for the truck cab, and associated filler plate, brackets

He has posted on Kijiji too.   https://www.kijiji.ca/v-other-auto-parts-and-accessories/regina/land-rover-series-2-3-truck-cab-inc-fittings/1720665414

The owner to get in touch with for these parts is Russell Green his email is: rsg123@live.com
Or PM me.

Thanks, Ian

Technical Discussions / Defender TD5 Rebuild
Last post by grizzlychicken - July 13, 2025, 12:56 PM
Yup still working slowly on this! Put together the front grill which I think turned out great so far.

Added the dynamat lining to the rear cargo space!  Small steps!

Questions!
How important is the rear seatbelt mount for rear quarter panel safety and strength? I'm thinking of not installing this but it connects the rear bumper with the c Pilar so looks pretty structural on the rear of he vehicle.  Thoughts?

Also for this panel that holds the older rear seats:

It won't really have a function with the exmoor rear seats so how structural is that? There is a large expanding bracket that sits behind this too.
This rear area I'm going to add draws for a camper and likely another bed......so no rear 3rd row seats.

So far I've heard back from Colin and Lee....Not quite sure who else will make it.

I'm Leaving Edmonton about 07:15am for an

08:00am breakfast at the Smitty's Famiy Restaurant at
4610 - 56 street in Wetaskiwin
(West side of Hwy 2A and north of Hwy 13).

If you are NOT coming to breakfast can I ask our members to meet at the Smitty's parking lot for 09:15am and we'll drive together to the show grounds and park up.

Hope to see you there ;-)

cheers, Bill

That was a GREAT TRIP!!!!    We had excellent weather, great company and saw lots of beautiful scenary!!

Bald Eagle, Great Blue Heron, Black Bear butt, Grizzly in a culvert trap being relocated, Fawn white tail, 5 adult white tail, Osprey, Two frogs and a million tadpoles, Buffle head duck, duck with ducklings (species unknown), One high pass and one spectacular view from a fire tower.

I figure I did right around 1700km total and used about 175 liters of diesel, had two ferry rides, stayed at free campsites, had at least a dozen Kudos from folks admiring the Landy and ate about 4 pounds of fine dust...

All in all that was a brilliant trip folks!
