Events / 2026 TRIP PLANNING MEETING - S...
Last post by binch - February 18, 2026, 01:10 AM
Greetings all,

Dave Lovelock (aka lovejugs) has offered to host the 2026 trip planning meeting at his place:

SATURDAY, MARCH 21, 2026
2378 - 29A Avenue,
EDMONTON

Here's the Google Map link
Dave's Place in Millwoods

If you have a suggested trip, event, BBQ, Car Show, vehicle build or repair session, etc. sort out a date and a place and let's add it to the calendar for this season.  Even if you have no experience go ahead and give it a go!  There will be lots of help out there for you to lean on.

Please contact Dave by sending him a PM at lovejugs  OR email at lock07@telus.net

While I'm here...We need a volunteer to co-ordinate our group heading to the REYNOLDS MUSEUM's - ULTIMATE CAR SHOW on July 11th.  All you will be doing is gathering the names of the participants in our club, organize a breakfast spot/meet up point and lead the heard into the grounds.  easy peasy

cheers, Bill

GREETINGS ALL!!!

What a great way to go into the holiday season  with a decent bit of snow....I always love a good white snow this time of year :-)

I hear Craig, down in Clairsholm, is installing his fuel tanks in his Series 2a 88".  I've seen the paint work on the body and it's a lovely Bronze Green colour and will look great when he's done!

I've been getting the fleet serviced with some serious electrical work done on the 110, including converting to a blade fuse panel, and a new heater fan motor with 3 speeds :-)  New belts and tail light too.  Our 2001 disco2 has had it's rear right signal light sorted after competing for space against a little toyota.  New window track in the left rear window so it closes on command LOL.  Even installed some LED bulbs in the headlights!  The 2003 disco2 got new front wheel hub assemblies to take care of a front end vibration in the wheel.    And the 1991 RRC is getting a cruise control installed very soon.

Don Harris, up in Cold Lake, has been a very busy camper with projects he's working on.  I'm looking foward to seeing some of these beasts of burden.

Issac and have decided to do a run into Ruby Falls Saturday, March 14th and it looks like we've got a fare bit of interest in the trip.    Looking forward to it.    Will have to see what the spring thaw and river ice conditions will be like then.  We'll be heading out early Saturday morning for a day of play and then home again in the evening.

If you have something going on send us a note and let us know about your trip or projects.    I'm sure there's lots of interest out there.......

As I mentioned in the previous post we have moved our Edmonton area gatherings.......

PLEASE NOTE EDMONTON AREA GATHERINGS NEW ADDRESS:

PEARL River RESTAURANT
4728 99 St NW,
Edmonton, AB
T6E 5H5
780 435-2016

January 7th from 6pm to 9pm

(It's a small plaza, 3 blocks north of the Whitemud FWY on 99st.
- west side of the road, with lots of parking)

Children are welcome and they also have a gluten free menu....

For those that attended the January gathering the consenus was the location and food was GREAT!  But there was a bit of a concern about the price point of the dinner menu for the shared meal we had.    Isaac was kind enough to pop over and speak with the manager there and they have offered us the option of ordering from their LUNCH MENU (see jpg below).    These prices are very reasonable and all they ask is that we pay a $3/person surcharge for the dinner service.  This looks very reasonable.  So.....we are going to continue using the Pearl River for the foreseeable future, if everyone is on board ;-)

If you'd like to view their full menu please have a look at their website ;-)

I look forward to seeing your smiling faces again since I haven't seen you since last year!!!! LOL

Cheers, Bill
