Title: Broken wheel stud
Post by: roverwanabe on January 01, 2017, 06:31 PM
Getting new tires on today, on the Benz E320.  They broke one stud in the front wheel and could not get two out on the back, afraid they would break them.  Any suggestions on how to get the broken one out and get the other 2 out without breaking them?.  They think they were cross threaded.

Doesn't matter now. They are ruined already. It no longer has the ability to safely hold the wheel onto the hub. Just bust them off and replace with a complete set of all new studs and wheel nuts.

Also check the wheel carefully around the wheel stud/wheel nut holes for damage.

Don't they have wheel bolts, nut studs?  If the threads are damaged in the hub, you will need new hubs.
