"In 1955, six young men set out to make history by being the first to drive 19,000 miles overland from London to Singapore. Many had tried, all had failed. But after six months of hard slog this team finally made it, and a bedazzled young BBC producer, David Attenborough, commissioned a TV series to share their incredible adventure with a post-war-weary British public. The book written about the journey – The First Overland – has never been out of print, and has inspired generations of adventurers since." Undertaken in 2019, The Last Overland is the reverse of that trip, using one of the original Land Rovers from the First Overland, and featuring Tim Slessor, one of the original adventurers. Being 2019, the journey was well documented in print and video, with (of course) a dedicated website - https://www.lastoverland.com/ (https://www.lastoverland.com/).
The documentary created out of the journey was originally only available via select paid services, but that has changed and all four episodes of the Last Overland are totally FREE to watch on YouTube via the Free Documentary Channel (https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLLgqOez346ZOzV7gFGE1sL4MI3cWjTDss&si=kRbuHVbxsYPf2okk).
Here is the link to the YouTube playlist of all four episodes.

this was a great 4 part video to watch, incredible how such an old land rover made such a journey without (relatively) serious problems.
a must watch
