Off road day trip to the Old Baseline Lookout.
Meet at the trail head Sunday, August 18 11:00

51.1 km south on 752 from Rocky Mountain House. 10.6 km north of highway 40.
This is a short and scenic off road trip to the site of an old lookout tower. There are some rutted sections to work through at the bottom, then a long steep climb up to the top up an old road. After working through the trees onto the scree, there is a short side slope section to a nice spot to enjoy the views and have lunch. It should be a pretty scratch free trail.

Please make sure you have tow points.
Great videos John👍
I'm in! This always a good day outing! Mountain top dining experience LOL
Was planning on making this trip but I'll be in Nanton for bikes and bombers. Hope this is a success and do it again next season.
I need a new refresh lol. Will see if I can fire the orange one up and get it ready for the adventure.
I should be able to make it, im heading to BC this day, so ill likely finish baseline then head down the 40 after and camp
See you all Sunday morning. Plan to get on the trail at 11:00, so try and get there a bit earlier.
Thank you for today! Hope everyone made it home, ill throw up some photos when I'm back from BC.
Damage report for the ol LR3.
Two broken mirrors, dented passenger rear door at the lower. Bent rear hatch(no idea how this occurred, but appears the latch bent somehow with no exterior damage) drivers side rear door crinkle.
All in all we had a blast!!
I wonder is somehow the hatch hinge has moved. Maybe see if there is adjustment. Possibly the bolts are loose?
I checked the bolts at camp last night, all tight. I have a theory, I think a thick branch came in and lined up perfectly into the roof notch for the roof rail, it would have pushed perfectly into that spot. But I think ill be able to loosen the bolts, realign and tighten.
It was another great day out!! Used a third of a tank of fuel on the way down (about 25litres). Funny how u drive in thick fog all the way down and going into Calmar......but coming out the west end of town the NO fog at all😂
Met up with Chris, Winnie (sp?) and the little one on the way down. We arrived at the trail head to see John and the red90 coming off the trail. Craig wasn't able to make it but found out Brendon and friend arrived shortly after.
So we had a d90, a 110, a disco 1 and an LR3. Quite a few dirt bikes on the trail too, some of which stopped to watch us climb over the ridge top. A little over cast at the top but warm enough and great view. Wonderful spot for lunch!!!!!
Had another great trip out and will need to get another mirror glass for the drivers side. I think that will be #3 for that side😂. That and a few more pine stripes😁. Brilliant day out!!!👍
Nice day out. Thanks for coming.
oooooo Great Photo!!!
Anyone know where we can get ahold of the videos from the gentleman in the disco?
