Recommended tire size with 16" rims?

So I do know that 235 85 r16 is the "SWEET SPOT" and was wondering does anyone know or have tried to run a 245 or 265 size tire and if it worked?
I know 235 80 R16 is the recommended, but just thought i ask the group.

I run 255/85r16 on my 90 and 235/85r16 on my RRC. When I had series trucks it was 7.50x16 until they became a red to get then it was 235/85r16.

So "NO" on the 245's for the series then is your opinion?

They might work but I haven't tried that size myself.
