Fuel sending unit is only showing half full?

Well registered, insured, and basically needs the interior to be done! 3430075A is on the road.....However, when I went to fill up with fuel, my gauge only shows half full. Not sure why so has anyone run into this issue before?

Check the sender resistance first to seeing if it is working. See here for value based on year.
