I expect many folks will be staying around and visiting with family for xmas..  But, is anyone got any plans????

I was thinking....if the weather isn't too cold..... a day outing might be in order.

What do you think?

Got several parties lined up, so that will be fun.

Also some friends and I have a few outdoor cold-weather shooting/training excercises planned between Xmas and new years. Heheh, with the current forecast we might just change that to drinking a bunch of rum VERY close to a campfire. : )

Isolating from my family because someone I work with went to parties and got Covid.

Are you sick? If not, don't sweat it (or get a test, there's countless rapid tests available).

Lol, very nice Bill!

Thursday and Sunday aren't looking too terrible for your possible outing Bill, if folks are itching for one that is.

Well. I did an outing today. -25 plus windshield of -32.
The adventure was on foot snowshoeing.
Started a nice propane fire pit. Deep fried a Turkey and ate pulled beef with BBQ.
All in all was 4 hours in the deep freeze.

Want another one: Blackfoot Recreation Area Centre Staging Area. Has a nice enclosed shelter with two cook stoves. Good spot to fire up and have a hot chocolate.
Who's interested?

Trevor

Sounds like a good outing option Emad! As noted above, I'm pretty booked up. But if something comes together and I have time that day I will spin by. It's close to home.

Well kids, looks like I'm going to be putting some mud flaps back on the disco this weekend (seems the only thing holding them on is the plastic trim) so not looking like I'll have time to play.    But I would encourage folks to take an afternoon run out to the dunes at Bruderheim on Sunday.    The weather sounds like it will be really good for it.    Or even a fireside picnic at Islet lake staging area of the Blackfoot Graziing/Recreation area:

There is a great picnic area there with a cook shelter and fire rings, cross country ski tracks and trails, lots of space for snowshoeing.  Unless you are on skis PLEASE stay off the set tracks and keep ALL dogs off the ski tracks (it's a safety issue with dogs vs skier contact accidents thing)

I'm hoping someone will pick this idea up and run with it ;-)

Have a great first weekend of the new year kids!!!!!
Cheers, Bill
