Water pump on 200TDI

I think my water pump is in trouble on my Tigger. The engine was doing squealing noise driving home on Tuesday. Having gone through a similar failure on my Disco2, I am sure it's the water pump. The alternator light was also lit faintly indicating a weak belt.

Any idea what part numbers would be used? I know 200TDI defender is slightly different than 200TDI Disco 1. Also any difference in performance between knockoff names or OEM part?

Investigate first. It could just be a loose belt. They need to be tight as the alternator wrap is quite poor.


It could be the alternator. Most people replace the pump when doing the timing belt so it is unlikely it is old.
