BC ROVER-LANDERS are hosting their annual FOUNDERS DAY Land Rover show.
- Oct 5th (Sat)
- Heritage Park, Chilliwack, BC

This is the biggest Land Rover show in western Canada, with participants coming from the NW USA and all across western Canada.    We drive down to Chilliwack on Friday.  Meet up for breakfast on Saturday morning and head off to the show together.  On Sunday there is an optional trail run in the local hills, starting about 9:30 am and goes until approx 4pm.    For those who wish to stay over Saturday night and do the trail run a Group Camp is organized on a private property in the hills overlooking Chilliwack.    Drive home again Sunday OR Monday, depending on your participation in the trail run.

If you would like to participate please contact me via PM and I'll give you the low down.
Cheers, Bill

Chris

I'll be there. I'll camp with the group, but offroading Sunday is depending on the kiddo! Look forward to it.

Is anyone heading to this in October? I'll probably be leaving Thursday the 3rd, possibly the 2nd if I decide to hit a trail on the way there.

Okay kids,   There's two weeks before the Biggest Land Rover show in western Canada ( if not all of Canada).  My plan is to drive to Clearwater, BC for Thursday about 5pm.  Just in time to catch a dinner meal at the Hop n Hog tap and Smoke house for some AMAZING bbq/smoked meat and veggies!

I will spend the night at a campsite located about 3 to 5 km south of town.  There is a small motel there as well but they allow camping there too, which access to a shore;-) and they are quite inexpensive to boot.

Friday is a nice casual day to get to Chilliwack, stopping in Kamloops to top up my fuel ( last cheap fuel before u head into the okanogan area.  That and maybe a bite to eat.   That should get me to Ciliwack early Friday afternoon.

I'm likely going to rent a place for Friday nite in chilliwack.  Saturday morning meet up with some other folks for breakfast at wWite Spot on Luckakuck road about 730-8am.  Start the day with a good breakfast and head down to the heritage centre for the B/C Rover Landers "Founders Day" event.  Los of lovely landies and kitted out oblanders too.

Once the day is done there is a good size group of folks that head up to a private campsite some 400' up the hill overlooking Chilliwack.  It's a great time to meet the other families there.

Sunday you can either drive home, or do the group trail ride (rated as moderate).  That runs from 9am to about 2pm.  That gives me one more chance to hit the Hop N Hog on the way home.   From there.....  well it's home late Sunday evening or early Monday.

If u r interested in joining in on the fun please let me know asap.

It's a great family trip!!!!

Link to some photos from founders day, was a great time, just like last year! Though this year I did get to join the group on the Sunday ride before heading to the Island.
Bill, you were curious on ferry charges these days, the Ferry costed $86, Abbey was free(under 5) and roof top tents get you an extra charge for being oversized. 😅

GREAT to hear you were able to get on the Sunday outing Chris!!!   Looks like a gorgeous area up there by Harrison Lake.   Wish I had gone.......

What time did they get off the trail and back to Chilliwack??

We need to get more folks from the ALRE involved....I know they would enjoy the weekend.  Lots of families there from the Rover Landers and NW states come to participate.

Cheers, Bill

Chris

I agree! Was a phenomenal time. Hopefully next year some from ALRE can come. The BC crew is very welcoming, a few even came by for a hand shake to personally thank me for coming out this year.

I made it to the ferry for 6 from the trail head, that was also after airing up and chatting a bit, so probably could have been back to chiliwack for 4
