Title: DIY outdoor sandblasting?
Post by: ugly_90 on July 31, 2020, 07:45 AM
I read that there's several sandblast yards near Vancouver that allow you to do your own blasting in their yard, as long as you bring your own PPE and pay for any media you require.

I haven't heard of anything like that in Edmonton or north of town. I did learn of a yard in Calgary though. Maybe there's somewhere I'm missing.

I had some rusty tire chains once, ran them once through wet gravel, and they looked new again..

I can blast smaller stuff here, but many larger bits can get expensive if paying out labour. There is a 'community sand pit' here outside Grande Prairie on provincial land. Free sand if you load it by shovel yourself. I wonder if they allow deposits of sand and rust there as well as withdrawals..   ::)
