Title: GEARBOX REMOVAL
Post by: roverwanabe on April 05, 2016, 02:29 PM
How long would it take to remove the Gearbox IF
Floor Boards are removed
SEAT BOX removed
most items unhooked, handbrake etc.

Say a couple of guys with an engine hoist.

??

After the seat box is off?  Two beer maximum.

If this is just for the clutch work, option 2 is to pull the engine.  They both end up about the same amount of work.  It depends on if you need to fight with seatbox bolts or not.

With two guys it is a couple of hours to get either the engine out or the seatbox and gearbox out assuming there are no bolts to fight and you have done it before.

hmmm.  given the shoehorning in of that Mercedes diesel, and how much seatbox he's already removed, i reckon yank the gearbox.  I'm snooping around for an engine hoist!
