Title: Prop shafts
Post by: Gardenome on December 13, 2015, 08:25 PM
A couple months ago someone at the club meeting mentioned a place to get prop shafts checked and refurbished. Could I get some suggestions as to some reputable shops?

Thanks,

Ian

Any branch of Pat's Driveline/The Gear Centre will be able to take care of you.

Yup, Pat's driveline on the south side (not to far from your work) does pretty good work ;-)

Yep, Pats is the place to take them. Decline any painting though, they just spray-bomb them, and will charge you for it. You can do that yourself for less when you get them back.

The gear centre rebuilt the rear differential for my old Dodge diesel too.

Well, pats quoted me $860 for 2 prop shaft repairs. Needless to say, I'm going for brand new at about $100 each. Hoping not to die on the shipping.

Holy skid stains batman!!!!     And the ones you are getting are Hardy Spicer too.   Maybe there is some platinum missing.

They checked my HD exmod prop shaft on the defender and replaced the UJ's and it was something like 130 bucks!    wow.....

cheers, Bill
