Title: Recommended tire size with 16" rims?
Post by: dijansmith on November 05, 2025, 01:51 PM
So I do know that 235 85 r16 is the "SWEET SPOT" and was wondering does anyone know or have tried to run a 245 or 265 size tire and if it worked?
I know 235 80 R16 is the recommended, but just thought i ask the group.

I run 255/85r16 on my 90 and 235/85r16 on my RRC. When I had series trucks it was 7.50x16 until they became hard to get then it was 235/85r16.

So "NO" on the 245's for the series then is your opinion?

They might work but I haven't tried that size myself.

It all comes down to what you want to achieve. Stock tires were narrow because narrow tires need less power and stock series truck have no power.
