Title: Jump seats
Post by: Apu on August 29, 2024, 09:37 PM
Howdy folks,
Just curious if any one knows the legalities of the jump seats in the back of a Rover? Has anyone carried passengers in the back? Any issues?

Depending on the age of the vehicle, seatbelts are required - but there are exemptions if the vehicle was old enough that it wasn't designed/equipped from the factory.

Alberta - Occupant Restraint Laws (https://www.alberta.ca/occupant-restraint-laws)

That said... I've got the factory jump seats, as well as some foldable seats from Princess Auto in the back of my trucks.  I added hard-mounts and seatbelts to the rear tubs, and haven't had any issues (vehicle, cops, kids or otherwise).
