Title: Electrical Issues Disco 1 & ECM/ECU Replacement
Post by: Riskdepartment on June 04, 2024, 09:21 AM
Im so new to this.  Please help! Its urgent!

I have many different electrical issues in my disco but these are the most glaring -

-The drivers side window wont go down, but it will go up. (its not the switch or the motor as they have been replaced)
- The brake lights are sticky and sometimes dont work. I can hear it clicking in the centre console when i press and let off the brake pedal (bulbs have been changed, brake switch has been changed. only happens when its running, not in accessory)
-Drivers side rear brake light does not activate when brake is pressed.
- While its idling, i hear a buzzing noise at random coming out of the gearbox.

I tore my centre console open and have checked for corroded connections etc.

I downloaded an electrical troubleshooting manual for a disco 1 and I noticed the ecu/ecm in both diagrams.  Could this be the cause of my various issues?

If so, I read that I have to program the ecu/ecm to the bcu.  What is a bcu, and anyone know where I can have this done? I am in Edmonton. Please do not suggest sports car centre- ive had enough of Bert.

I appreciate any help and advice I can get.  This is my only vehicle and I need to fix this asap.

Thank you!

I don't have an answer for those issues, Sandy Lane works on LR's
