Title: Adjustable #5 ball joints
Post by: binch on September 12, 2015, 10:33 PM
Looks like I'm going to be replacing my #5 or A frame ball joint on the rear axle as it's developed some play.    Normally I would just replace with a new solid unit but recently they've been selling adjustable replacement ball joints.

Does anyone have any experience with the Adjustable A frame ball joints????    I was looking for some feed back....... ;)

They are meant to have two uses.  One is to allow more angular travel.  That is probably not of any use to you.  The second is to allow them to be tightened as they wear.  I'm not sure I've seen one "wear".  They fail if the sealing boot is broken, but I'm not sure about wear.

I've had a second one go on me.  Replaced the last one about 3 or 4 years ago now.    Just trying to decide which one to go with ;)
