Title: Series 2A 88" axle strap question

Craig's question on Bill's computer! are there check straps on the front and rear axle? are they the same length on both axle? are they the same length on same axle? are they necessary? cheers Craig

It is just the rear.  There are a lot of theories running around about why they were fitted and I'm not sure that anyone really knows....  I will talk about some below.

1)  The shocks originally supplied are not designed to fully extend as they don't have an extension stop.  No clue if this one was ever true, but any modern shock should not have this problem.

2)  The rear prop on a SWB will over extend and come apart.  Should be simple to check in the workshop.
