Anyone running AMSOIL MTG in their R380 gearboxes?
Thoughts?
Opinions?

This stuff? https://www.amsoil.com/lit/databulletins/g2080.pdf

Not heard of anyone using it, but the cold temperature viscosity is not as good as other options.

That link is for what appears to be the MTL that is claimed to be a substitute for the MTL-94 Rover spec transmission oil for use in a R380. That could be an option?

I was referring to this stuff specifically though

That's a super useful chart on your webpage by the way. Thanks for the link!

It's being billed as a "heavy duty" or "severe service" lubricant? I've never used an Amsoil product before but lots of folks in the diesel pickup world seem to rate it highly?

The stuff you link to is much too viscous for an R380. You want an 70 or 75W-80. A 75W-90 will kill the pump and make cold shifting impossible.

Most people around here use Redline MTL. It is easy to find and works well.

All you are looking for is good synchro performance.  Too thick or too slippery and the synchros work too slowly.

Good points John. I guess I'll stick with the Redline MTL.
Thanks

Once again....Reference from Red90 tables of amazing information ;)
