Parts for Sale / Mechanical Fuel pump kits S3
Last post by BritBits - March 12, 2024, 11:37 AM
We have ended up with a couple mechanical fuel pump rebuild kits that we can't use. Part number AEU2760

$20 each, two available.

According to Rimmer, they fit:

Series 3 - 2.25L Petrol, Diesel models

May fit others, I don't know.  Best to call Brit Bits in Edmonton, (780)-440-4704 as I don't know how how often I will check in here.

The Triumph part number is very similar but they will NOT fit Triumph (TR2,3,4).

They used a soft shackle on a regular attachment point.  It sliced it like a knife.

Well that was educational!!!    Brings a whole new meaning to the phrase "slow as possible, fast as necessary."   Bridal straps on both vehicles as well.    I've seen safety strap/rope used in conjunction with kenetic ropes (Like having a slack leash between the eyelets of the K rope and anchor point on the vehicles.

Very interesting video Andrew....thanks for posting that one ;-)

Technical Discussions / Re: 2003 discovery KEY
Last post by binch - March 10, 2024, 04:17 AM
I gotta ask the stupid questions.....  Does the fob activate ANY of the door locks?  If 'no' check the fob battery.   If the battery is good (new) and non of the door locks are activated.   Maybe the fob is the problem.

Does the key itself unluck the driver's door without setting the alarm off?  If 'no' check the fob battery.  If yes maybe the lock actuators are bad.

FYI.  Beyond that......you may need to get it checked.    I a 2001 disco with heated windscreen and it works fine with or without heated windscreen.   I have a 2003 disco without a heated windscreen and no issues there, but the drive's door has to be unlock with the key as the lock actuator only lucks.   I've gone through 3 lock actuators between the two vehicles.

Can anyone tell me how the key connects to the car, is there something in or near the windshield. Something that would be disturbed when a windshield is installed.
Thanks

Last post by stretch1940 - March 08, 2024, 10:31 AM
Bought a 2003 disco, everything worked, the radio the clock was dark and clear. I have a heated windshield installed. The key fob won't lock or unlock the door , the radio stop working and the clock is barely readable, I unpluged the heated windshield, that didn't change anything.
Thanks
