Title: fording limits of d90
Post by: binch on December 27, 2015, 11:53 AM
Seems they are having a wee bit of an issue with high water in the UK....LOTS OF FLOODING!

Now we all know our trusty landies can take on deep water.....and some of us have personal experience  8)

But this elderly gentleman Cumbria really tried to test the limits.....

I would not be happy with them treating my sunroof like that ;)

He did not have a Snorkle. I bit it would have kept on going had he had one.

I did not like how they tossed the sun roof. He could have passed it back inside.

I wonder if he got the engine shut off before he hydraulic'd the engine.    what's that rule...."don't drive it if you can't walk it".

He was a short fella too.....I wonder if he was standing on the seat to reach that air pocket in the roof....? :o

This came across my tube feed tonight.

Would love to hear the comments on this one. I liked the idea of shutting the engine once the Snorkle got close to the mud.

Enjoy

First guy is lucky to be alive. I've seen moving water 1/3 that deep push a Land Rover down strewn. Probably the only thing that kept him right side up was it filled with water quickly. I'll bet he will never complain about Land Rover panel gaps ever again!

As for the 2nd unit....you get what you ask for.

Having a raised air intake does not turn your car into a submarine.

I wonder where the air intake on one of those things is? Perhaps with it being mid engined it's up behind the cab??

I like that instead of staying behind the suv on higher ground the driver takes the right (deeper) lane so he doesn't have to follow the Kia or whatever that was. Respect.
