Warm and dry weather with no rain has pushed the wildfire hazard to very high and extreme across the southern portions of the Calgary Forest Area. The southwest corner of the province has not received significant rain in more than 30 days.

What I love about the above is it a complete total falsehood.

The Canadian Wildland Fire Information System shows the fire danger levels in that area as low to moderate, with a bit of high on the eastern edge.

Sounds about spot on for our government. Political parties may change, but the "wisdom" of the bureaucracy is perpetual and eternal.

Should be a fun weekend trying to enforce it.  Every square inch of space along every creek will have a trailer on it.  Maybe they are just trying to increase income through fines.

I certainly wouldn't rule out the idea of them trying to generate more revenue. The government's general revenue is down across the board, hitting people with selective taxes (like fines) is an age old way to try and offset that.
