Title: Stats Cans demand for data from Canadian banks
Post by: Trevor on November 02, 2018, 07:36 AM
Michelle Rempel, MP for Calgary Nose Hill, has started an e-petition demanding the government stop Stats Canada's recent demand for private and personal banking information on Canadians.

If you are one that believes in privacy rights, and that the rights of the individual should supersede those of the state, or you know of anyone of similar ilk, please sign and pass this petition along.

If you don't believe in privacy rights and believe that the state is more important than the individual, well, piss off and die....

It was disturbing enough when it was made public. Many don't know that Canada post can identify and sell your credit and spending habits within 15 homes radius as an average.
Equafax can identify your credit, spending patterns and bill payments on individual and home basis. Such data is available for the right service or $$.
That's is why it's wise to leave your electronics and bank cards when you go out shopping.

Very good points Emad.

Data is a VERY powerful thing, and many pay far too little attention to what is happening with the data they own and are responsible for.
