Title: 1998? Bedford, Leyland DAF trucks at auction, ex-BATUS
Post by: ugly_90 on June 17, 2016, 04:57 PM
I expect this seller won't get Ritchie Brothers pricing.

The Bedford is listed as 1998, perhaps due to reg number or surplus date. I expect 1978 could be more likely. Would have to inspect VIN, reg, contract numbers to be sure.

the sale is tomorrow, enough time for Andrew to make it down from Yellowknife :).

I don't need any more projects.

Funny thing is I am driving down from Yellowknife in the morning and I do like bedfords but I don't think I can store or use one up here nor do I have the extra time and cash right now.

If that registration plate, 65 GT 81 is correct for the Bedford, the date into service would have been 1978 and it is possible it could have been built even earlier.  My 1978 Lightweight is 27 GT 98 and was built Oct 3, 1978 but not into service until December 20,1978
By 1993 the registration number system had changed to 2 letters, 2 numbers, 2 numbers.  My 1995, 110 is registered CA 46 AA and was put into service 18/01/95
