Title: Defender 110 Airlift Kit
Post by: Red90 on January 28, 2019, 08:36 AM
To follow up on an old discussion on the Airlift kits that fit a 110/130, I just bought the Airlift kit 61724.  I looks correct for the 110 and I'll stick it in this weekend to verify.

or Britpart re-sells it as well DA5010 (I assume the same kit?)

The springs are Airlift part 46132.  10.5" long and 5.38" diameter.

The lower spacer is around 12 mm thick and the upper adds around 30 mm.  The total, uninflated height from spring perch to spring perch is 310 mm (12-1/4")

The airbags have a pressure range of 5 to 35 psi.

At 5 psi, they add 53 kg (117 lb) of force each and increase the spring rate by around 43 lb/in.
At 35 psi, they add 372 kg (821 lb) of force and increase the spring rate by 107 lb/in.

This allows you to add up to 640 kg (1410 lb) of load without changing the ride height.

I recall you had a set in your 90 John. Are these from the same manufacturer?

Yes, I have airlift in the 90 as well.  They sell a kit for them, part number 61741 which I bought a long time ago.  The only problem with them is they use 9" springs, making them a bit short for a typical 90.  The size is really meant for a Disco/RR (which are lower stock).  Because of that I'm using the springs from a Dodge Ram 1500 kit (12" long springs) with home made supports.  This has been trouble free since installed in 2015.

I've got the Airlift kit (60818) in a RAM 1500 with over 100k km on it. The bags have been in for at least the last 80k km, with some 10-15k of those kilometres towing 5-7k pounds (~1500lb tongue weight), and the bags at 35PSI. Otherwise the bags are at 5PSI. The bags are showing signs of wear on the outside but I haven't had any issues with them yet. They aren't used offroad but they seem to be well-made.

I've considered them for my 90 so I can go back to the NRC4304 like John has. Didn't realize I should have ordered two sets! Thanks for the info John.

FYI they now do an HD kit for the Ram that has bags that go to 50 psi. Useful if you want more load capacity.  Get them for the Ram and move the old bags to the 90.

Went in no problem.  Everything fits great.  Forgot to take photos.  Will try and remember the next time I have a wheel off.

At the same time, I changed to a lighter spring that was chosen to keep the height I want when unloaded.
