Title: removing hub after failed bearing?
Post by: brendan leier on November 24, 2022, 05:42 PM
I'm replacing a front wheel bearing on my disco 1.  Ive got the retainer nuts and washers etc off but I can't for the life of me pull the hub off.  Any tips?  I'm reluctant to wail on my brake disk but this m.f. is stuck!   thanks, b

Slide hammer.  If the outer bearing failed, it could be welded to the spindle and you need to cut the inner race of the outer bearing off in order to remove the hub. Then you'll need a new spindle.
