No man bun.....but here's the description of the writer "Will Sabel Courtney"

"Will Sabel Courtney is Gear Patrol's Motoring Editor, formerly of The Drive and RIDES Magazine. You can often find him test-driving new cars in New York City, cursing the slow-moving traffic surrounding him."

YPS with his blow hole coming up for air  ;)

He just missed the point that's all. A trait common to almost all motoring journalists that judge cars by the narrow standards of the work commute and the school run.

All car makers build faster, safer, cheaper, fuel efficient, more comfortable egg shaped SUV's that cater to the modern driver in ways the old Defender will never be able to achieve. In this he is 100% correct.

But if you want a vehicle to can drive unsupported to the ends of the earth and back again (or even outside the franchise area of Starbucks) where heated seats, cup holders and parking assist are not mission critical......then it's the original Land Rover, accept no substitutes.

Let's hope he never get's his his silk gloved hands on a Ford Model T. Although, I love them. Arguably, they've made some impact on the auto industry...
Mind you, no cup holders.
