Series Lug nuts

This is probably one of the least technical questions on the technical discussion forum, but... are all Series lug nuts the same? Are they comparable with later LR vehicles with steel wheels?

Guess a good rule of thumb is, up to around 1970 ish would be the 9/16 bsf then after that with the metric system in UK they changed to 16mm  not exact I'm sure, but you get the idea...
So 1 ,2, 2a  bsf
Late 2a ,3 and up mm
