Title: Series overdrive
Post by: Gardenome on March 17, 2015, 05:40 PM
I met Dave the other day and one thing he asked me is if my series rover has overdrive. It does not and it wasn't even on my list. Now it is. For budgetary reasons it's way down on my list, but it is still there. If I could ask people to keep an eye out for one, attached to an engine or not, I would appreciate it. No rush.

Thanks

What engine?  I'm not sure a series 1 has enough engine to push an overdrive.

There is an outfit in the southern states that is now making the fairy overdrive and carrying spare parts......but they are NOT cheap...as usual for FO's

http://www.rdsparts.com/fairey/ (http://www.rdsparts.com/fairey/)

I don't know anything about them and I have only recently heard about them.

That is Rovers Down South.  A big company.  I would think, though, if you were buying a new one, you would buy a Roamerdrive, http://roamerdrive.com/ and support your Canadian companies.

Another option to look at too....good on ya John!!!    But now we just have to watch the track records of the products each is producing to see you has the quality and the service behind that product ;)

The roamerdrives have been around for many years and work well.
