On September 1, 1955, two Land Rover Series 1's, one named Cambridge and one named Oxford, set off from Hyde Park in London on a six month and six day journey covering over 18,000 miles arriving in Singapore on March 6, 1956. Published in 1957, the book, First Overland chronicled the journey. Last Overland is the reverse journey with one of hte original vehicles and one of the original participants, 87 year old Tim Slessor.
