Title: about oil filters
Post by: ugly_90 on November 11, 2016, 08:47 AM
With Alex, a few filters have been disassembled, with Coopers, Mahle, and Genuine leading the pack. Genuine was found to be the best quality.

I expect WIX is good too, but I never disassembled it. A very inexpensive Lubrifiner filter is now awaiting disassembly for analysis.

I note that Allmakes now carries  " WIX Filtron ", supposedly OE to Land Rover. The said filter could be obtained from Allmakes, or whomever. The last time I bought a WIX filter from NAPA, it was expensive.

I don't know anything about them, but it may be worth grabbing a sample Filtron filter for analysis.

Were they the Filtron-WIX filters then, or another brand?
