I have the opportunity to purchase a 2010 Pontiac vibe. Anyone have any familiarity with these?

We had a 2005 Toyota Matrix (Base, 5spd) from new to 2009. It's the same car which is basically a Corolla wagon.

While generally unremarkable, it's reliable and trouble free with good utility (being a 5 door). I'd say that it's a good by if you're looking for simple transportation. It is an economy car though, the engine isn't particularly smooth, the interior isn't the quietest and many features that we now take for granted (power windows) were extras. I believe the Pontiac was considered to be a premium model, so it might be a bit better equipped.

I'd be a little concerned with the Pontiac version's exterior - all that plastic cladding just has to trap moisture and salt, so inspect it thoroughly for corrosion.

We replaced ours with an '09 Impreza, we wanted AWD and definitely enjoy driving it more, but it also cost $10k more when new.

That's my $0.02
