1998 Defender 90 Front Side Marker light removal

I'm trying to remove the front side marker lights on the front of the wings and am wondering if anyone can tell me how these can be removed?  Mine are the small square'ish ones like the one on the attached image.

On the European models they are side indicators ( flashers) push it to the right then pry up left edge..

Do it in a heated garage or wait for a warmer day. They can be a real SOB to get out without damaging the fender/paint or breaking the plastic tang off the light.
